Décolletage Treatment

There are a variety of dermal filler treatments made to rejuvenate the skin of the neck and chest. In the chest area, women often worry that their décolletage is showing excessive signs of ageing.

Sun exposure, lack of daily moisturising and ageing causes the skin in this area to become lax, pigmented, and wrinkled. Skin folds may deepen into wrinkles and the skin may become crinkly and paper-thin or to develop a leather-like texture.

The effect may be noticeable as vertical lines crease the chest and cleavage in women which can extend up to the neckline. These wrinkles are caused when the skin produces lower levels of collagen and elastin and hyaluronic acid which is needed to give skin a plump and hydrated appearance. While anti-ageing creams may be successful at moisturising the skin surface and can improve some fine lines, they do not remove deeper folds.

Fortunately, we have a range of products which we can use to improve the décolletage. Dermal fillers containing hyaluronic acid injected in the wrinkles and surrounding skin will instantly improve and remove deep lines and wrinkles. The treatment is pain-free as a local anaesthetic cream is applied before the injections are administered.

We can additionally improve the area with the use of skin boosting treatments for improvement in the elasticity and hydration of the skin. Chemical peels can be used to address pigmentation marks and sun damage. We can use bio-remodelling treatments such as Profhilo to support all the skin layers and the fat cells beneath the skin to further improve the skin in the décolletage.

The course of treatment recommended may vary according to age, skin condition and preference. As treatment progresses, the skin regains its youthful elasticity for a beautiful, smooth appearance.

Dermal filler treatment takes about 15 to 30 minutes, most of the improvement can be seen instantly with skin-toning results in the neck and chest evident within a week. Lasting for up to between nine and fifteen months, depending on skin condition, annual or bi-annual top-up maintenance treatments may be applied for lasting natural, youthful complexion that enhances appearance and self-confidence.
