The first thing
Treating a gummy smile
A smile is often the first thing we notice about people. Smiles and lips are also one of the key areas that clients will express dissatisfaction with when looking at themselves.
Some clients will complain that they show too much of their gum when they smile resulting in an unattractive smile. This is referred to as a ‘gummy smile’. Gummy Smile is caused by the muscles which elevate the upper lip performing too well, lifting the upper lip too far above the teeth, exposing the gum.
Fortunately, gummy smile can be corrected with Botulinum toxin injections to reduce the activity of the muscle that elevates the upper lip. Relaxing the muscles with Botulinum Toxin will not stop the function of the lip, but it will reduce how far the lip can rise and how much gum is on show.

Effective & safe treatment
Botulinum toxin is a much less invasive method of treating a gummy smile than traditional surgical methods for gum reduction. In addition, it is more effective, it is safer and has faster results with no downtime and far fewer complications and side effects.
In as little as 3 or 4 days, patients report they are starting to see changes with an aesthetically pleasing smile being achieved within 14 days. Treatment will need to be repeated every 3-6 months to maintain results.
